I'm not sure if my sandbed is deep or not. it's maybe an inch to an inch and a half deep. I am thinking about replacing it if I take the rocks out and rearrange. Is this a good idea, or should I try not to disturb anything?

another thing I want to do also is support the rocks on a plastic "stand" or something, so the rocks are not touching the sand

You can put new sand on top of the old without a problem, but if you are going to replace the sandbed and/or stilt your rocks at the same time, you are probobly going to throw your levels off. It can be done, just be prepared for water changes

when i upgraded to my current setup i used everything from my 75 to my current 90 gallon exept the sand beacuse my 75 was bb al my corals and fish are ok i didnt loose anything thank god so i think rearanging the rock shouldnt be a big deal imo.

I took all my rock out and put everything in 5 gallon buckets...cleaned the substate and stired up everything to the point you could not see in the water....did a 50% wc and put everything back in....Everything is doing better than ever. Pull the rock and do what you need to and put it back as soon as you can. Temp is your biggest issue..
