Taking down my tank within the next month

We are putting in hard wood floors in the house within the next month or so. So im going to have to take down my tank. I went to the HardWare store to price out some 5 gallon buckets and some 32 gallon trash cans. I will be getting 2 32 gallon trash cans made by rubbermaid. If i put some LR(rock with coralline) in each trash can and some tank water for the fish to swim in and a couple of Power Heads in each trash. Do you think the fish will be ok for lets say a week or less?? What size power heads would be good to get? In one can will be my wrasse and yellow tang and the other will be my lion fish and snow flake eel. The two yellow tail damsals will most likely be with the lion fish and eel. If they come up missing i wont be to sad but they wont be going back in the tank i will give them back to the LFS. Should i put a light over the trash cans for the rock and fish?

Also while the tank is down i can fix my silicone seam that my Pencil urchin ate.

Is there anything i should know about before i take down my tank within the next month?

haha I just meant for the urchin!

about the damsels if you are bringing them back the the LFS why put them in with eel and lion? Why not just bag them when you catch them and bring them back?

as far as light I'd get just a random light to put over just so the fish have day and night

It sounds like you have all that you need except maybe a couple heaters. Personally I would never set up a tank on hardwood floors. I have heard too many stories of people having large spills and having to take down the tank and have the floors around the tank replaced. Water that is spilled on the floor will seep between the boards and warp the floor.

My LFS guy doesnt like me to well so i dont want to give him something back that hes just going to resell and make money, Most likely what will happen is i will give them to my friend.

Would a kiddie pool be better for the fish?? Or would they be just as happy in the trash can?

Between new flooring and new paint I REALLY REALLY suggest getting someone to take the fish or set up the tank at a freinds till the Home Improvement is over, been there doing that, something always seems to come up taking more time than planned for
If you do it yourself it will take longer than you thought, and even hiring the job done is no guarentee, unless you find a flooring guy who reefs and unnerstands the time constraints you are workin under, GOOD LUCK

I was thinking about doing that, but i only want to take it down once and set it up once all the stuff is done. My dad and I are going to be doing the flooring and painting so my dad knows the problems with the whole tank issue and time. Im going to go with the trashcans and stuff and it looks like it will be longer than a week then i will look for a place to set the tank up.
