Yip the test reminded me why I didn't take more chemistry classes.

Boring! I know, I'll get an assistant! I like that idea! How do I find my reef assistant? Oh ya, it's you guys!

Lots of guessing for me, too! I do think I'll catch on more when I actually have to supplement for calcium, etc. I do better learning something when it's something I have to actually DO to my tank. Hand's on learner, I guess.

Or you could do chemistry this way:

Fish and corals happy = chemistry good

Fish and corals dead = chemistry bad

Start studying! You will be glad you did.

Pick an article, don't worry about learning everything in the article, just learn something that you can apply right now.

This is a good one to start with. It will help you understand when your alk and calc are in balance and what to do if they are not. I love the chart! You can even use the chart to plot your test results over time.
