TADA!!! The Rebuild....
As most of you know.. I had some "problems" with my 30... Well Im not 100% complete yet, but Im just about there!!!
Here's an updated pic. All I have left to do is hook my pump back up and test run.
What I ended up doing was putting (2) pieces of starboard (fancy cuttingboard) on the bottom of the tank and surrounded it with sand. Then built a spraybar to blow under the rock, across the board. I am running the spraybar thru the return from the sump and I also replaced the vinyl tubing for the overflow and replaced with PVC. Also with the overflow I installed a ball valve to control how much flow my skimmer gets (direct connection from overflow to skimmer). This way, I can tune the skimmer for wet vs dry as well as control the flow thru the skimmer allowing for longer vs slower dwell times.
Anyway, Im confused, so here... look at a picture...

most of the rock is in there, but I have a little bit more rockwork to do as well as better coral placement....
Anyway, its a start and as long as the rock isnt sitting in a rubbermaid tub, then Im happy(er)

Im thinking Im going to stick with the SPS (lower light species) and zoas... oh and the brain is going to stay in there. I dont think Im going to add much more to whats there except maybe a pocilipora or stylophora. In the meantime, Im just going to grow out and decide later.... Im housing a carperters wrasse in there right now and I dont think Im going to add any other fish. Although he doesnt seem very happy right now but either would I if Id changed tanks 3 times in two months.
Im still considering combining my two tanks into a 75 but Im having second thoughts about the financial side of things. Besides, Im still concerned about how round 2 is going to go with this rock... mabye it would be a good spring project, and I should be in a better financial situation by then (thats the plan anyway)
