t5 bulbs


are t5's supposed to have to warm before they come on fully?
i turned mine on this morn and the middle of one bulb was very dimm until it warmed up ...new bulbs 3 days ago ...first time i seen this

Mine did that too..and marinedepot sent me out another set of bulbs...they told me they should fire right up.. no flickering or dimness....the new bulbs I got did fire right up btw....Are yours brand new bulbs? Im not an expert on this matter...

I agree, my T5's come right on. I have had touble in the past with bad T5 bulbs, I would suggest calling and getting a new set of bulbs, or at least checking all of your connections.

I agree they may not be seated properly.
Put sunglasses on and start them up see if they do it but don't wait too long to return them

curious what kind of bulbs. i have ati. bulbs 2 blue plus 1 12k aquablue special 1uvl 75/25 14 k aquablue i noticed that when i first turned my lights on the 14k took a minute or so to come up to par the same way you described it my lights are brand new as well but now it seems to come up to par much faster. i dont think its a problem with the bulbs it just takes a minute or so to reach full par.

they are the current bulbs that came with my light ....sunpaq i believe there called

My ATI 60" bulbs does the same, my giesmman 48" does not.

Once you replace the bulbs with better quality bulbs you will see a difference in your tank... I used the stock current bulbs and replaced them with giesemann bulbs...big difference in coral and color

Huge Diff!!!!

Just checked with reefgeek about their ATI bulbs, it is normal for their bulbs to take a few min to worm up before its at 100%
