Survival of the Fittess feeding tips???

Does anyone have any good tips on how to feed "Everyone" in your tank. I have a tank thats 30inches tall and all of my creatures eat the same food. I have 2 yellow tangs, 2 yellowtail damsels, 2 fire shrimp, and 2 skunk cleaner shrimp. I try to pour A LOT at once so that the damsels can't eat every single one of em but they are pretty **** quick and they swim to the top as well. The Yellow Tangs get the top as well but mostly at the middle. At the very bottom my shrimps get barely or none. THANKS in advance =]

I've got similar livestock and I feed them all flake. Rather than dump it all in at once, I start adding pinches one after another (usually three) so that a continuous stream of food goes into the tank. Everyone seems to get their share. Amazing how aggresive even a chromis will get when he's hungry.

you can use your tank size against them.

pour food in two separate corners of the tank simultaneously.

eventually, the more submissive fish will learn to go to the OPPOSITE side as the aggressive fish.

you could even try spot feeding, or shooing another fish away.

one thing that DID stick out is...you mentioned yellow tangs, who should also be getting some algae/seaweed. Maybe try the clip-on seaweed. And if you have lots of algae...I'm sure they're getting their fill when you're not looking.

cuz caint spellz

feed a pinch at a time like Yardboy said but alternate sides of the tank. Your agressive feeders will go to the first drop and will clean that up while the others get the food at the other side of the tank. Or you can try presturating some of the food with Selcon or Garlic X-Treme or even a few drops of tank water. Feed the damsels at one corner the dry flake wich floats then drop the wet flake wich will sink quickly on the onther side of the tank.

Here's how my tank works...Life would be grand if not for the darn bangaii cardinal that refuses to eat anything but meaty foods and will do so aggressively, so I feed him last. I feed every other day, starting off with New Life Spectrum Thera+ A granules. The clownfish eat most of it,b ut the coral beauty and the firefish catch what falls to the bottom. Then I put in a cube of some frozen food, when it gets in the stream of a powerhead the ingredients go everywhere and it's a free for all. At that point, the firefish gets what he can before he has to dash into hiding for fear of the bangaii, who darts around like it's his last meal. Everyone enjoys and whatever is left is eaten by the skunk cleaner, the crabs and snails. Oh, and I also feed the corals DT's Oyster Eggs--that is, what the clownfish don't snatch! They love oyster eggs--geez!

I feed the same all the time. If one fish who is less agressive, ie. my six line wrasse, doesnt seem to eat much for a few days eventually he seems to come out of his shell and get agressive for the next few days. LFS says you really can not underfeed?
