surface scum

Hi I have tons of junk floating on the surface of my water, I am just using LR and skimmer on my tank for filtration. Is there an easy way to get this scum off the surface? I'll take any suggestions.

actaully it can be pretty easy, you need to have something like a power head to break the surface tension. once this happens your skimmer shoudl start to take it out.

It may sound strange, but a paper towel across the surface really picks it up, too.

point one of your powerheads up so it sort of just bubbles and it is a piece of cake..just like Timmah mentioned...now I gotta point a powerhead down and try the papertowel ghetto skimmer thang
