Supplements->save money or wastin?

Hi all,
I recently was reading an article about supplements and someone said something that caught my eye. They said that the only true supplements you need are calcium, iodine, and water changes with a good quality salt are all you need. Is this true? I have always bought seachem's Reef Fundamentals and the other pack. One comes with calcium, iodine, and strontium. The other pack comes with reef complete, carbonate, and plus. Those are the supplements I always get and then my salt(reef crystals). So what do you all think>>? By the way, they also said all of Marc Weiss' stuff is no good and all those other kinds of bicatalysts.

Calcium, buffer , and water changes works. You can't test for it, don't add it. Selcon as a food supplement is good, but the other stuff, all the miracle products, the juries out on. Until an independent agaency does side by side testing on a lot of miracle products I aint buying it. I suspect that for every glowing report on x additive you will find others relating horror stories from using it. Its all anecdotal, so you pays your money and you take your chances.
look at websites of sucessful reefers and see what they use
