superglue

from what I have read the correct way to super glue a coral to rock is to:

1. use the gel
2. dab the base of the coral dry
3. dab the rock dry
4. use the glue and let stand 30 sec. or so

is this correct or am i missing something? I need to attach a few corals this afternoon to some rocks.

That's it. If you're quick, sometimes I use the gel to glue underwater (say if I'm gluing something to the glass or overflow). I just dab the gel on the frag, then quickly get it onto the spot I want to glue and hold for 20-30 seconds. Works pretty well in my experience. Good luck!

I also do it underwater. Use step 1 (with A LOT of gel) and 2 then:
3. when submersed a "skin" will form over the gel
4. place the coral and twist a bit to break the skin
5. hold 20 sec and voila, its attached

Depends on coral, some won't attach that way. Then I put a toothpick(wooden) threw it ,near the base and glue the ends on the rock and when the coral is attached to the rock itself.I break the toothpick off the rock and pull it out.I also us a instant dry spray on the glue so I don't have to hold it long and get it right back in the water. You get the spray from a hobbie shop.

Great to hear! You learn faster than I did, it took me a while (i.e. a bunch of dropped frags) to get the hang of it
