Sunflower coral help

The lady at the LFS called them sunflower coral, but I'm not sure that's the real name. Anyway, does anyone know how to care for them...they seem to be especially delicate.

I had them once before, but they never acclimated to the tank, never came out and eventually died within a few days.

The ones I just got seem to be doing very well. They come out and have very long green stalks, but the "tentacles" are closed up on the end that make up the "sunflower" and every once in a while, they'll go back in...they sort of alternate some go in, some come back out.

Is this normal, and if not, how to I care for them so they don't die again?

Thanks.

Yep that's it!

ph, salinity, water flow, and lighting are all perfect. But the polpys aren't open like in the picture...mine resemble a closed fist. Any idea what could be causing this?

How long have you had them? Is it by any coral?

I just got it two days ago. It's by itself because I know they sting.

These guys are pretty tricky when it comes to sucess.

Not saying you can't keep them...but do some research, find out all you can. It will increase your chances with them.

Good luck, and keep us posted!!

You're quite welcome. Always running across people having problems with these, and this couple seem to know there stuff.

Good luck. They're beauties.
