Sump Rock question

Later this fall I am going to be moving from a 55 no sump, to a 90 with sump.

Currently the LR in my 55 is literally covered with shrooms (I actually call them pretty aptasia, or satin's spawn!). I HATE mushrooms!

Anyway, the only thing I think of to rid my tank of them, is to use my existing LR in the sump and get new for the 90. But will the little b!$#%^&s make their way through the sump and back up into the main tank if I do that?

Or should I just soak my LR in battery acid and watch them slowly burn into nothingness.

Thanks,
Brad

If you want the mushrooms gone, theres a way to make some money back off of them.
Cut each mushroom off as close to the base as possilble. Put the mushroom somewhere that it can attach to rubble. Where you cut off the mushroom, take a torch to that localized spot.

This is alot of work, but I have fould that the mushrooms dont grow back, and now you have a lot of shroom frags to sell.

Or you could just kalk them all to kill em.

I have tried the Kalk paste, but there are just too many - literaly 100's and 100's, some very small and behind rock.

My LFS said he would give me a little on trade toward new rock, so I may consider that if there is a chance they could wind up back in the main tank.

I agree with DM, you can make some $$ off the mushrooms, they are expensive on-line and at LFS. I would sell them or at least trade them at your LFS for something you really want and need.

Sell em online for a dollar a piece. Mark it "get what you get" and make "literaly 100's and 100's" of dollars. 8)

Now you have new rock paid for and some money to drop in your new tank. Problem solved. Ha!
