Sump question......
I have a 75 gallon reef tank with no suump
I have a spare 55 gal and a 20 gal long laying around that I can use for a sump. Could I use the 20 gal and be ok or should I go with the 55?

As far as sumps go,.. I say the bigger the better! If you can fit the 55 in with no problems than go for it If not, the 20G long would be fine.

what are your plans for the sump?
do you have a drawing or plan of how you want it set up?
that will determine how many baffles and where they need to be

I agree... the largest size tank you can fit for your sump.

How many sections are you looking to stick in the sump? I'd recommend just 2, unless you've a good reason for more. A spot for the skimmer, and then use the rest as a return, with a good bubble trap between the 2 sections.

I would make 1 1/2" between the baffles and the middle one up 1 1/2" off the bottom.
