Ok so i took your guys advice I went to Lowes the Glass way way cheaper and they cut it to fit. I installed the first piece. so far I took pics but it wount upload to this post. tony your setup is nice I like skimmer return then fuge with a lower flow rate. so I would have over under under over right.

no, just over under. If you add another over you just create more bubbles. Thanks, I am pleased with the setup.

The water split from the manifold to the fuge on the left side will fill that and it will spill over to the middle as well. That is throttled by a ball valve to cut the pump flow. The skimmer sits in the right side with the return and a constant 10" water level and water gets added to the middle to go from the min level to the max level (for folks that add water instead of having ATO).

Yes, that is exactly how it works.

Sorry I meant over under on the one side then the same for the other side. I have another question after this project is completed l am going to transfer everything from the HOB Fuge and old Sump. I have that mystery Mudd in the sump now. Can I add new sand to the new sump with the LR. I am trying to figure out the best way to make the transition.

from the skimmer to the fuge you only need one baffle as bubbles really wont matter in the fuge, then from the fuge to the return pump area is where you will need two baffles the first one over the second one under

Ok so lets say I built it the way yours is. I would need to traps on both sides. I am deciding which way to go Skimmer, Return Fuge or Skimmer Fuge Return.

yes, if you built it like mine then you would need 2 baffles on each side.

Ok I am still deciding where things will be located I have a few ideas. What would you suggest about transferring everything once I am ready. I wanted to add new sand to Fuge not use the old stuff can I do that. I have LR I can transfer over not sure about old Sand and Mudd.

yeah never use old sand, i always replace it with new. It's just a good habit to get into. My suggestion is to do your build and leave the old connected. Then fill the new sump with fresh ASW and start moving everything over to it. Make a couple of extra 5 gallon buckets of water to swish the rock off into to get rid of any organics that may be resting in the pores of the rocks. Then put them in the new sump.attach plumbing into the new fuge back to the tank and you are set. While you are settin all this uo in a fish room, it would be the most opertune time to build an ATO tank as well as a waterchange loop to ease water changes for you.

Man that is one sick system I already have a top off
it's next to the tank that's a reason for the fish room lol
I also want the bigger sump to help with water changes
so I can do one without shutting down the whole
system thank you for all the advice u gave me it's people like
you that keep this hobby fun and interesting.

So how close to the actual inside dimensions of your tank do you have it cut?

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

Shouldn't that read skimmer then 1 baffle, then fuge, then an over baffle, an under baffle and and over baffle at whatever height you want the max running depth of the return area?
Without the second over baffle the under will feed directly into the return area, right?
