Well this has been a fun day. I moved my shrimp to a 'fuge tank while waiting for her to release her eggs. should have happened last night, at least so I thought. She was being held in a contianer that allowed water flow, but kept her in easy reach. I holds onto the side of the tank with suction cups. I get home from work and find that the suction cups had let loose and dumped her into the tank, not a big deal I thought at first, until I couldn't find her. the tank is essentially empty, as I'm still figuring out what to put in this high flow,
low light tank. I finally check the bulkhead, and found her stuck inside it. Luckly I had another item gat stuck in the bulkhead, and she was still near the top. I though for sure though that she would be dead, crushed by the weight of 800gph of water flow, but dicided that if there was a chance, I should get her out. Much to my surprize, she appears to be fine, and it doesn't even look like she lost any eggs. Well this took about 30 minutes to find her and get her out of the plumbing. During this time I noticed that my
Bangaii cardinal was acting strange, but he had been eating well , and I thought not much of it, I had more urgent matters at the time. A few minutes after putting everything back together, and feeding the baby shrimp, I went to feed the cardinal. He was missing. So I checked around and didn't see him, but thought maybe I scared it when I accidently let a door slam while shrimp hunting. After about 20 minutes, I found it dead. The hermits had already done a number on it. Then I started to hunt for the mandarin, hadn't seen it when I got home. Still MIA, I just hope it's hiding on the other side of the rocks. All three were in seperate tanks, but common water. This is just such a bummer.
