Suggestions for fish additions?
Hi,
We started with 5 chromises and 2 clowns, but, as fish will die, are left with one clown ( false perc) and two chromises. We're little gun shy now to add more fish, but will plan to go ahead. Any recommendations? Another clown? Is just one OK? He seems quite happy and he and the two chromises seem to hang around together - everyone is happy. I think we'd like to get a few more chromises also - any problem adding them in? Might also like to get a yellow tang (if the tank is large enough) and some sort of gobie.
Specs: 90 gallon with approx. 90 lbs. live rock and live sand bottom. No corals yet.. three peppermint shrimp and our clean-up crew of snails and crabs.

are you planning on keeping it fish only? or will it be a reef tank?
there are many fish you could get, some will depend on if you have corals or not

which are the best pigmy angels to get for a reef tank? flame back? lemon peel? I am shopping for fish also, and do want an angel eventually.. I know they can nip, but I want one anyways.. what do peeps here recommend?
As for other reef safe fish, six line and four line wrasses are good reef fish.. I loved my six liner.. he was a lot of fun to watch... always on the go, combing the live rock for little copepods.

coral beauty, pygmy/cherub, flame, bi color, im sure there are more, but these are fairly common, and probably your best bet for reef safe.

Do you know why the fish died? how is your water quality? did they die during the initial cycle?
your tank is big enough for a tang but it should be the last fish to add to the tank. I always get the bigger/most agressive fish last so it wont harrass the new additions. This gives the smaller more peacefull fish a chance to stablish territorries. I would not get any damsels.

I don't think your tank is large enough for 2 dwarf angels but the Flame angel was my must have fish I had one in my 95 and he was a coral nipper he unexpectedly died and I'm not going to replace him

Potter's Angel... they are overlooked and are in my opinion, prettier than the coral beauties.

yes, they died very early on after adding to the tank - stress, I think. One of them had ich..Water params are good..the surviving fish are thriving. We are newbies and maybe we didn't get them acclimated slowly enough..who knows..Anyway, we're ready to try again..
