Suggested protein skimmers

Hello everyone,

I'm in the process of transfering from a 55 to a 72 bow with a 20 gal sump. I have 45lbs of live rock planning on adding 40lbs more within the week.

Totals ~ 85 lbs LR
1 yellow tang
2 yellow tipped damsel
1 cleaner shrimp
normal cleaner crew with snails and crabs

My question, I have a seaclone skimmer, and have been told I should try to up grade.... I need a suggestion for a efficient skimmer without going over the top with $$...?

It can be placed in or outside of my sump...

Thanks

I like the Aqua C EV series skimmers. They are very good, plu Aqua C has great customer support. I do not know whaat over the top $$$$$$$ wose os for you, but I would check them out. I usually try to save $$$$$$$ as well except when it comes to lights and a protien skimmer and thats just from experience.

Thanks for the info (bri7795)

I guess I'm more concerned on not buying a much larger skimmer than is needed for my tank(~85gal total)

I'll check out the aqua c.
Does any one else have any thoughts?

Thanks again

I'd consider [though it's a bit small] an AquaC Urchin Pro. Does alright on my 58g + sump tank.

I'd also consider a MyReefCreations MR-1 skimmer which is rated for a larger tank, but quite a good skimmer.
