Sudden fish death

I have a 100g FOWLR about five days ago my Mandarin Died unexpectedly He was healthy and fat. Then yesterday morning my tuskfish was sick not swimming laying on its side. I took it out and put in a QT tank then about three hours later I found my pink spot gobbie laying on his side so I took him out and put him in QT also. This morning they were both dead. My salinity is 1.022 Ph 8.3 Amonia 0 nitrites 0 nitrates 5 phosphates 0. I have about a half inch sand bed i vaccum evry two weeks I do a weekly 10g water change. None of my other fish are sick they all seem happy. What do you think happened. I added the Harliquin tusk fish a week before the mandarin died I got him from a friend who had him for about 2 months without a problem. All the others have been in for quite a while.

No I am a little crazy about things like that I clean the outside of the tank with clean water. Because I don't want to risk any chemicals seeping in.

I'd be more concerned about ph than alk in a fish only system, but one does effect the other. Do the fish look beat up? Any damage? The tusk fish might be whooping up on the other fish at night. Do you have a cleaner shrimp? You may have introduced a parasitw with the tusk fish like flukes. The mandarin is kind of puzzling. They have such a heavy slime coat that they rarely have problems with external parasites. Could be something internal or maybe gill flukes. Keep watching and good luck.

Anyone else in the house spraying something into the air maybe? Products like Febreeze and other airborne fresheners have been linked to fish deaths.

Next thing I would check would be all of the electrical equipment. Check all your pumps, heaters, etc for physical damage or current leakage.

I can't use air sprays because I have bad allergies so that rules that out. I checked my pump powerhead and heater all seem fine no damage. now my lionfish has developed a cloudy eye but is fine other than that.
