stupid question
ok..i have read how some ppl put pvc pipe under there rocks so if something digs... the rocks dont fall down..
so do you lay it long ways (like - that way someting can crawl in the pipe)
or
up and down - so the rock sits on the top of the whole and the bottom is placed against the glass??
hope that makes sense

up and down, but I made holes down the length of the pipe so I could get some flow and it wouldnt be stagnant within the pipe

oh gosh, there are some great threads about that. I've seen some use 2" or 3" pvc, drill holes all along the length and all over and then cut it into the wanted lengths. That way critters can dig and travel through the pvc via the holes that were drilled... someone knows what I mean, and you know the pic I'm talking about! Please post that again!

You glue animals to rocks and keep them in glass houses, why would you need therapy , you seem fine to me

Can't be that dumb of a question as often as it is asked!!!
Here was the link level drummer gave me when I asked ( at the bottom)
then you just stick them on the bottom
a few of the guys have some pretty sweet set ups. do a search on lifting rock, pvc stands, and platforms, that should help. I know I have read a few threads over the last 2 months on them.

you don't have to primer it, I think he just did that so they weren't white... that is exactly what I was talking about, just a different thread than what I was thinking of.

I made one like this.. Seems to work pretty well so far.. It is a sealed unit with 1/2"pvc.. However if i were to build another i would have filled it with sand before the last cap was on.. had to set a rock on it to hold it down before i added the sand.

I used acrylic printer stands which I drilled 1" holes all throughout (for better critter sand travel) with a unibit. They worked VERY well.. but I wish I had put them in before I filled the tank.. pulling the LR to get them in was a probably the biggest PITA I have yet to experience with this tank. lol.
some pics of them in post #50 here.
