stressed snails

Would it be normal or abnormal for your snails to undergo a somewhat signifigant stress like a signifigant drop in ph and temp, then seem perfectly healthy for a week or more under perfect water conditions and then just drop dead becasue of the previous stress?

Like 15-20 of them.....and counting

When I first started my tank I didn't acclimate my snails properly and I think it did take them about a week to all die

These are all snails that ive had for a long time in a super healthy tank with hardly any nutrient import. I only have a 2" clown and a 3 inch mandarin, only the clown gets fed and very lightly. I pulled everything out of the tank and left the snails in a bucket for longer than ideal, but not that badly. Im almost wondering if they died from that or if i am starving them and i simply do not have enough for them to eat in my system

Thats probably a delusional thought but????????

the 15 or so dead ones i have been collecting for over a week, like i said, though, its probably wishful, delusional thinking that my tank could really be running that clean. All of my water parameters and ph swing is better than i would have ever believed possible even a few months ago.

I agree, it was just odd to me that they didnt die sooner if that was the cause.

Regardless, i did come upon a novel(although NOT original) concept.................

If you like your corals..........DONT keep fish.

It can take a week or longer for snails to die from a drastic salinity, pH, or temp swing, ime.

I think i am content with 5" of fish in an 80 gallon, only 2" of those requiring outside food.
