Strange Spots on Montipora

ok, my camera is not good enough to get pictures of what im talking about, there is 2 feathers, 1 black, 1 red, that are the size of a toadstool polyp on it, & a black spot that looks like its been burnt..whats going on here ?

Is that on the top or bottom? I had some black spot on the bottom of mine but it strangely disappeared one day ...

could be a dead spot or a vermitid snail

that was my first guess as well......but without a pic, a guess is about all you will get unless you saw any webbing coming out of the spot

could be a featherduster of sorts as well with the feather description. I have christmas tree worms growing out of a couple of acros
