I'm in Sarasota, we got the direct hit, eye and all. Gabrielle's handed us 40-100 mph winds from 4 this morning to about 1 this afternoon. Most of the islands are underwater, save for sand bommies, and almost every street is flooded. Lost tons of trees, structure damage, etc. I'm in one of the very few isolations that still has power (its unfathomable, every other neighborhood and island is pretty much without power, 50-75% of residents out), so I'm lucky to even be able to post this; and you don't dare walk around outside, God forbid you step in a puddle local to a downed power line or burst transformer...
