Storing Mixed saltwater.
So I am trying to make this hobby a little easier for me. I am looking to get a 25 gallon storage container. Add a pump and hose enough to make it to the sump. If I make up 25 gallons of salt water and dont use it all can I keep it stored in this tank with mabye a power head and small heater. If so for about how long would you say. I do like 10 to 15 gallons a week so if i got 2 or 3 weeks out of 1 mix.

yep, it will be fine. Just keep a watch on your salinity if the water can evaporate.

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

I've used rubbermaid garbage cans for years with no issues. Give it a good scrubbing and rinsing before you use it to remove and contaminates that may have settled during the manufacturing process.

I have been reading recently of PO4 being released from the brute cans during water stortage, You may want to use a plastic liner inside the can. And yes, you need to get the one that is labeled for food safe.

I bought two 25 gallon brute trashcans. 12 bucks a piece. And I can lift them on rollers and simply roll them to my tank. One is salt......one is fresh. I just bought brute trashcans......I think they were normal cans....not food grade.....but ive tested them and they tested out fine.
