Stocking My First Reef! No Fish Yet

Ive got my first reef tank up and running for three weeks now. Im not planning to put in any fish until some time after christmas but Im getting excited and want to atleast pickout what im getting now!

My tank is a 14 gallon Biocube with 20lbs of live rock and a 4inch sand bed. Stock lighting (2x24 watt compact flo with lunar LEDs) Im planning on upgrading the flow and Im working on a DIY automatic Top Off.

My water as of today tested:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0
pH: 8.2

Although there are no corals yet it will be a reef tank so they need to be reef safe.

Im fairly set on getting a small clown fish unless you guys talk me out of it. So basically im looking for one more really cool fish I can add and then maybe some cool crab or star fish etc! All critters and creatures welcome!

Thanks in advance!

I had a pair of black clowns and a pistol/goby pair in my biocube. The pistol/goby are awsome to watch!

I have never heard this. Nor have I ever seen a goby go "into" the sand bed to eat these critters.

oh ok. Awhile back I was in a LFS in my home town of Madison WI and I saw a very small fish that looked to be some sort of goby (im no expert) that had burrowed a small home into the sand bed and would pop in and out of it as if on alert. What would this be? Ive wanted one ever since but I dont remember the name!

it could have been some sort of goby I guess, I am no expert either, but any gobies I have had have lived in caves and holes and tunnels in the sand, but only ones that were dug out by pistols. Never been told they eat critters in the sand though. That would be new to me.

Does the shrimp eat benifitial critters in the live sand? I know that some things do for sure and im trying to stay away from those.
