Stocking help
OK it has been almost 6 months to the date since i had fish in my big 72 gallon tank. I just got the new ASM G3 skimmer today and it will get hooked up in a few day. I don't have the money right now for fish but soon i hope. I wanted some fish finally which is one reason i got the new skimmer also help keep the tank clean.
Tank Specs.......
72 gallon AGA
29 gallon AGA custom sump
ASM G3 skimmer (gate-valve mod soon)
Mag 7 return pump
MJ 1200 w/mod (thinking about adding another
PCI 1/10 HP chiller
4x110 watt VHO lighting
100 lbs LR on LR stands
BB tank
Right now i have mixed corals......
SPS
LPS
Softies
OK here is the catch i want fish for around $40 less per fish and ones that not everyone has. I want some unique fish and ones that people go WOW over Some of the ones on the list might include common ones which is OK but i want more unique ones.

A not so common fish for $40 or less ehhh. And when you people go WOW over, do you mean the TRT people, or normal people who dont know about reefs and what not?
Some cool fish I like are the longnosed hawkfish, I like the misc. rabbitfish that arent foxfaced. And Im kinda out of ideas after that. I dont really like the fish as much as the corals and inverts.
How bout getting some cool inverts and only a couple real cool fish? lol

I love my coral/invert tank right now. Like i said my tank is BB with just corals and inverts. I have about 40 snails and 20 hermits and a coral banded shrimp. I used to have a feather duster but dont know where he went.

I want to get a tank stocked with fish i have the skimmer to handle them now
Thanks for your reply i am still looking i have my eye on a few just want to hear what others say.

What about a scribbled rabbit. A bit of people have em, but I think theyre still one of the cooler fish out there. I also do like the barnacle blenny, hes a trippy looking fish.
The crappy thing with fish is the ones I like arent reef safe, or need to be in 150g+ tanks. Like tangs, humu triggers, frog fish, puffers.

I really like the scribbled rabbit, really awesome looking people would go WOW over that. That is the kind i want. Lots of detail.
The barnacle blenny is pretty cool one thing is would he need sand? Because i am not adding sand to my tank. Or would he do better with sand i guess i should ask.
Thanks,
Tim

I dont really know about that TIm. Thats the spot Im in right now. I want one in my tank, but wont add sand just for the guy. At my LFS here, they put a barnacle (I dont know if its real or fake) in ths tank, and he just kicks back in there all day, halfway out, peeking around. I never see him out of it ,unless hes eating food. So Id think he'd be ok without sand.
There are other rabbits too. Ive seen one on liveaquaria.com that is yellow with a couple black bars. Theyre like the tangs for those of us without a tank big enough for tangs lol.
And for some reason, normal people love yellow tangs. I dont know why. I Think I might be forced to get one, since Rachel loves them. And I Think alot of people think Wrasses look pretty "wow", though Im not a big fan.
A fish I did forget was a Clarkii. I think theyre cool looking guys. I dunno, Im sure more will pop into my head lol.

Thanks for your replies, I am constantly looking now since i got this skimmer and i am poor right now. But in a few months i should get some more to get a couple fish. Because i have ran fish less for almost 6 months to the date need to take it slow. I need to get a list within about 2 weeks so maybe i can but one or two of those fish on the list the calm fish and add to the tank until i can get the rest of them.

Yeah, sailfin's can get very large. I've seen some that were easily more than 12" in length. If you are interested in a tang, have you considered a tomini or kole tang? They don't get too large, and should be ok in a 72 gallon. The tomini is a little more unusual; maybe priced a little over $40, but I think would make a good addition.

bangai cardinals are super cool, only black and white, but something about them make me go wow. a pair would do great in there. some flasher wrasses are always a great fish, most are very very colorful, not sure about the 40$ mark though.
if you dont mind someone possibly nipping corals, a angel is a great wow fish, like a potters or flame or something.

I do mind those are my corals I work hard on keeping them healthy and nice looking they are real head turners now i just need the fish to do the same.
