Question

Stinky Rocks???????


I was cleaning my tank and pulled one of my rocks out and it had a nasty sent
and I picked up another rock and it didnt smell bad like the other one, any input would be greatly apreciated.

Maybe something died in it. I had one rock in particular that did that I ended up bleaching it and then soaking it in water with a declorinater for a week. Rinsed very very well. Killed everything on it but also got rid of the smell. It now has really nice coraline on it.

maybe a dead snail or crab, could be alot of things, if its not causing issues in your tank (ammonia spike or something) its not a big deal, you could probably just let it run its course.

Yeah I should add mine was covered in a nasty slime that wouldn't go away. This was a last resort kind of thing.

you could pull it and soak it in a bucket of SW for a month with a good PH
