Well,
I'm planning on SPS if I can get the chemistry mix right for them to be compatable with the softies and LPS. LPS and softies for sure along with a tank full of anemonies with clowns (for the wife).

I vote for the 2nd one. Already put together...seems like more than enough light to me. I'd get the upgrade to HQI for each too!
I think with three tanks starting up, you'll have enought to worry about, w/out having to worry about building 3 hoods, wiring 3 sets of lights, etc.
does that price/fixture include the ballast?

Yeah, that what I was thinking too. I also think it will look nicer with the extruded aluminum hood hanging rather than a wooden one.
Yes on the ballast.
Thanks Skeet.

I'm getting very anxious. My skimmer and all of my plumbing with pumps should be in tomarrow. I will post more picture when I get it (hopfully tomarrow). I will have to get my sump, run all my plumbing and add salt. Bah, I still need that hole saw.
Well, anyhow wish me luck on my shipments arriving.

ok, got the skimmer (one day early might I add). Its big. It is sick big. I would post the pics right now but my wife took the camera to kickboxing, I will post a pic of this thing when she gets back. I could fit inside of it. Well, not really but its BIG.
It says it is in sump only but I could easily modify it to go outside the sump. I think I will.

Right on man, your setup is pretty cool pretty versatile having 3 tanks. lots of different options. As far as the lighting go with the 2nd option. Can't wait to see your skimmer/set-up.

pics of skimmer
These pics are of the skimmer in freshwater after about 20 mins of running. I would bet the skimmate is from residual soap on the Jaccuzzi.

48 inches tall X 8.5 inches diameter.
I want to see some pics of one of these working on an established tank with skimmate in the cup anyone got any?
I guess I should say what it is in this post... ASM G-6.

Nice skimmer, Make sure You have all that soap out of that thing, I don't think that would be a cool way to start out.

Right, I just drained and flushed it and the tub and filled it again. Its still picking up soap. I'll prolly have to do it lots more. At least I'll know when there isn't any more soap on the tub.
