American Marine Inc. Aquarium ORP Pinpoint Monitor NEW
Does anyone think that this IS a good indication of over all health of a system? I have heard that it can be mis leading to judge the system by one of these but I would also think that any major drop in ORP would tell you that something is wrong before you would otherwise be able to tell.

You're right, it would be a signal that something is changing, if for no other reason than the change in the reduction potential could signal some possible event leading to increased organics in the water column (indicating the possible need for a water change). This is not to say that this metering could not have a role in good aquarium husbandry, but that relying on this as the sole means of following the tank conditions would be a mistake, as there are many factors in the aquarium chemistry that will affect ORP but would not necessarily indicate a change for the worse. So long as we do not rely on this as the only means of potential problem detection and look at the big picture, it should be OK.
Personally, I have other things I like to spend my money on, like corals...

Well, obviously my lights didn't come today. they are scheduled for delivery on Monday now. I should get my lights and calcium reactor Monday. I got my taxes done tonight, so, I didn't have any time for frivolous pictures.
