Here is some rock in the tanks.
Here is the sump full of rock. Does it look like enough?
Top shot of the rock in the sump.
This is what the skimmer looked like right after I put all the rock in the sump.

From the looks of it my skimmer ate him.
Take a look at the time on my post with the last skimmer shot in it. I dumped it right after I took that shot. Now look at it a little over an hour later and it over flowing. I definatly need to do the drain mod on that thing.

I turned it down some I need to get some sleep. I can't be running up and down the stairs evey 45 minutes to empty that thing. If its over flowing again I'll turn it down some more. Beckettes might be nice but this is just easy.

Oh yeah i did find one little bitty polyp on the rock and when I stuck him in the tank he perked right up. I bet he will be dead by the time I wake up tonight. I should get a pic of him.
Oh, by the way the LR was totally uncured. Very light for Fijan rock as well.
Does anyone have any ideas for doing a drain on that cup? Should I use 1/2 inch hose? what kind of fitting to get it to stay in the cup? Should I just pay the 12 bucks for the ASM mod kit?

Easy and quick way would just get a nylon, plastic or such threaded hose barb fitting at local hardware. Drill a hole coresponding to the fitting size. A little silicone on the threads and screw it in. Let it dry to specs and should be fine. 1/2 hose should be plently as the skimmer will slow greatly when most af the $@#! is gone.

Still should safice. Most are like 1/4". Think if your skimmer is doing say 1 gallon every ......~6 hours the 1/2 hose should definitly handle that flow.
Worrst case scenario is some overflows the cup into the sump.

I'm gonna nab a 1/2 inch barbed fitting from menards tomarrow and get that set up. There is no way to keep up with that thing.
