Ok, I got my camera and went down stairs to take some shots of the skimmer. I found my Roughneck tipped over and it had spilled all 45 gallons out into a rubbermaid that I had stuff in that shouldn't get wet.
Here are the shots of the skimmer. You can see how high the bubbles go compaired to how high the collet is.

Does anyone know why my drain pipe would just "out of the blue" start gurgling through the main vent real loud?

No nothing but its puffing air out of it. If I plug the hole with my finger it will build up pressure and shoot an air bullet out of it.

Hmmm, mine would just gurgle and eventually fix it's-self. Is the drain very straight. Maybe try put a little bend in it if possible near the sump. Maybe the water is draining too fast and sucking air????

I just don't understand. Its a three inch line... there should be plenty of room in it for air to pass...
Oh I bet I know what it is. The bubbles from it going into the sump are building up inside the last bit of tube and forcing the air to back up the pipe. I got a fix for that.

we give our UPS guy homemade blackberry jam... he's here often enough that he's almost a friend, of course I've never had him haul ten boxes of rocks for me.... better have a cold beer waiting for him when he's done!
