starting refuge/ have questions

I purchased a Aquafuge Pro the other day and wonder if I can get it going by this weekend?

I assume that I need to mix about 23gal. RO and salt mix and bring it up to temp. I also bought a 30lb. bag of Aragonite aragamax sugar-sized 00lite sand bed.

Should I put the sand in my mixing tub with the water until its time to install the fuge?....Will this water also need to cycle?

I guess what I need is step by step directions about preparing the fuge for use.

Thanks,
Rich

as far as cycling you will not need to worry about that. this is only if you are using something "Live". these "live" things have will have some die off that will cause a cycle.

as far as setting things up. you kinda just gotta go for it. when using fine sand like that you will get some kind of milkshake. if there is a way to keep the flow really slow through the fuge that will really help. the faster the flow the greater the milkshake.

do you have an overflow already?

all i have in my cpr afp, is live rubble with a few pieces of macro. i thought about adding sand, but decided there wasn't any reason for it at this time. i currently have the skimmer turned off because i dosed with bio-spira yesterday. i thinkn i'll make good use out of some nussiance apstasia down there a biological filter, or some zoanthid colonies!
