Starting a Western Maryland Reef club?

Okay...I know someone posted it before, about a club in Maryland, and
someone pointed us to the Baltimore club. But I'm looking for something closer. I live just 15-20 miles north of DC..one of the most populated areas on the east coast. There's GOT to be some reefer's in my area.

Mainly Montgomery County, and neighboring counties?

Looking to start a club at a minimum, on here (mod's...help?) where we can talk about LFS's, frag trading, DIY stuff, husbandry technique's, etc.

Eventually branching off to physical meetings at reefer's places? Maybe frag swapping? Educational stuff? Help with big projects (if someone gets a new huge tank), free food and drinks (my favorite part).

Looking to see if there's ANY interest? And if I have at least a handful of people, can the Mod's on here maybe help us set up a new forum or something?

I can hang flyers at the LFS's around here...see if we can not only get some advertising for the (potentially) new MD club, but for TRT too!

Please sound off if youre interested, or have any advice/tips/etc.

Gonna bump this once a day for a few more days to see if we can get some more interest.

Also gonna make up a flyer, and post it at some of the local LFS's here. See if I can get some interest.

Once I have a few people, We can discuss a name/etc, and I'll get back to Gregt with it. He'll then create a sub-forum for us here. From there, we'll talk about things.

Definitely planned on doing that. Was just afraid that a membership of 2 (which it would be right now) would be a little low.

But we can still give it a whirl for a few months.

as for the RC, you mean Reef Central, right? Not really a member there...should I be? I guess that have a club in my area over there?

they do list a western MD club.

but if it is like the delaware on. they may have a website for it. but western MD is kinda a big area.

as far as RC i am a member but i think i have maybe 20 posts if that.
much more "family" over here
