Starter corals...
Alright, you guys have already helped me choose some fishy inhabitants. Now I need help choosing the right corals. The LFS recommended a Colt Coral or Bubble coral, but from what I've read, they're a bit more for the experienced enthusiast. I was thinging of maybe some Green Polyps or Pulsing Xenia.
Check out my tank specs (in my sig) and let me know what you think. I'm looking to spend somewhere around $100 to get a few nice ones to start.

Mushrooms are great, lots of color and many varities. Kenya tree is good, the xenias, toadstool/pin chusion leathers, the GSP's, zoos for a start.
stay away from this typr of shroom- it'll get too big for your tank. These are about 8-12" across and take up too much real estate IMO some call this a hair shroom but in one book it's called a giant brown

IME:
Green Star polyps are easy and look nice
yellow polyps look good and are easy
Ive got a colt variant called youngs coral and it is easy
xenias grow like weeds in a tank with fish and good light
I think all the mushrooms are easy and look good with your lights.

No it's not the elephant ear. Giant brown. It does curl up when fed, but it's not very fast.

mushrooms, star polyps, zoo's, candycane coral, frogspawn or hammer coral. i had a colt coral and it just wasted away after moving around trying to find a spot it liked. i have heard that xenia can be hit or miss as well. the bubble coral is pretty hardy but it is delicate. good luck and happy reefing

We have a green star polyp that is doing perfect. Along with some finger leathers, red algae, some other polyps and a few fish Mrs. Phishs tank is really happy with medium flow and 65W lighting.
