I have never taken note at the shop of how long it's taken brittles or serpents to regrow limbs when they've lost them due to shipping stress. (Might be an interesting little bit of info, maybe I should track them on a graph
) It's certainly not a fast process, I'd say you're looking at a couple of months anyway. I'd make sure that your star gets some food where he can reach it easily to help him have energy for regeneration.
One thing I have noticed was that the
serpent stars not only seem to suffer less loss of limb, they also seem to grow back a little quicker, but that's definitely an unscientific observation!
