Star Polyps vs. Purple Mushrooms

I just got a small frag of green star polys and have chosen a good spot for them. Eventually down the road when they get growing pretty good they could meet up with a rock of purple mushrooms. It is far enough away to be good for now but if they go crazy who will win the battle of real estate or can they live "around" each other peacefully?

BTW just got back from Hawaii and went to the Waikiki aquarium which is great. Also went snorkeling in Hanauma Bay. It is beatiful. Has anybody else been there? Just wanted to share my excitement since I was on vacation with "non reefers"... haha

TIA

hmmm I don't think mushrooms or star polyps are aggresive but I could be wrong.

Somebody will know for sure.

So where's the pictures of Hawaii??

GSP in general spread pretty quickly once they get established - I don't know who would win in an actual turf war but I would bet on the GSP - I just trim mine back on occasion as required.

Ditto, i think you will be ok on the two getting along together,,,at least i think they will keep each other at bay, without much aggression/killing of each other,,
like what was said, you can trim-prune GSD's very easily, plus if you keep them kinda isolated from bridging over to other rocks, you can keep them in check that way too...
