Star Polyps

Is it normal for polyps to not open up for a couple of days after they have been transported?

Yes.

They can stay mad for even a week or more. Be sure to check your parameters in case they are trying to "tell" you something, but otherwise just be patient and they should open.

A cool idea is to get them to somehow grow onto the glass (try to place the coral right next to the glass, and allow it to grow onto the glass there). Then you can have a "living background" on the glass...it looks pretty cool when you start to get a large "field" growing onto the back or side of the tank.

I might try that
I have three patches now. I have to take out one before it overruns my Zoas (it jumped onto there rock).
but the glass is a really cool idea (now that is it almost covered in coraline I'll try something new)
