ok ive seen soo many peaces of little starts i thought they were old sand stars that dissappeared any how what do u guys think thirs about 10 i found but i think these guys have too many legs ???

asterina. harmless algae eater.....UNLESS you see them hanging out on corals as some species are predatory. But the predatory ones arent very common and its easy to tell them apart...not visually, but by where they choose to hang out

you are looking at an adult there. thats as big as they get

personally.....when convenient I toss them. Ive had predatory ones in the past and if all it takes the flick of a pair of tweezers when i have something out of the tank I will take the opportunity to get rid fo them algae eater or not. I dont go out of my way to do this as its beena while since I had any coral munchers.....but if convenient, out they go

It is very seldom that you will ever see a whole one. They reproduce by splitting themselves, so you will usually just see a couple legs here and there crawling around on the glass. If you see one then you have a whole lot more and will continue to get a whole lot more than that.
