Stages Of Coraline

Are there different stages to the growth of this? Does green turn to purple as an example?

Thanks In Advance,

Todd

Different algaes will repopulate the tank depending on lighting and water chemistry

This is true and is why often times coraline will "die back" after you put new rock into the tank. The tank conditions aren't optimum for the type of coraline that was predominent on the rock when you bought it but other types (there are many, many different spp...I bet Horge's got a ballpark figure ) will find your tank to their liking and take off.

You may even notice a difference in the increase/decrease of certain colors and types as your lights get on the downhill side of their lifespan.

Just sharing...

I have the maroons growing fasts. The purple and pink are bleaching, but coming back now.

The maroon color never bleached.
