Hi, can somebody explain to me what is the meaning of sps and lps corals????

Hi, Charles,

SPS = Short-Polyp Stony; LPS Long-Polyp Stony coral. This is less of a scientific distinction than a convenient way to generally distinguish between two types of coral commonly kept by reefers. Both build skeletons but SPS generally require much better lighting for growth.

I might recommend getting Eric Borneman's book, Aquarium Corals, which gives great information about specific corals and their care.
