i keep right around .021-.022, i would keep it higher, but i buy my ro/di and mixed salt water from a local fish store, and thats what they mix it at, so id either have to mix my own, or adjust theirs, and im lazy, so i keep it the same as theirs. its just easy.

1.025 but that's with hydrometer, gonna have lfs double check and see what their meter shows and match up the hydrometer. Refractometer on the wish list tho.

Just make sure they use a refractometer, only the higher end LFS use them my LFS used a hydrometer and when I checked his water with my refractometer his was off as well, especially the brackish since his hydro wouldn't go low enough.

1.026 because I was told once that is good for softies and my fish. The LFS keeps theirs at 1.023.

Of course when I tap the hydrometer it may change a couple.

I keep mine close to 1.025 using a refractometer, great investment, no more guessing!

here is an interesting article about salt and the ocean.

take note of the differences in salinity around the ocean. still trying to figure out why anybody would want to keep their tanks at anything less than what NSW is.
