Southdown question

How much does southdown compact after adding water to the aquarium? I would like at least 4".

well, what you can do, is put in your sand..I would say 5", add just enough water to meet the top of the sand. Then just put in your hand, and stir up the sand some. It should feel a little like quick sand, but it will help get the air bubbles out of the sand. Then when you feel it is good enough..finish adding water. Just my 2 cents.
