Somethings deffinetely wrong.. help
I have been noticing over the past week or two that most of my corals have been looking bad and my xenia shrunk down to almost nothing. The zoanthids have not been opening but when i fragged a tiny piece off and stuck it in my 10 gallon they open up all the way so something deffinetely wrong with the tank. Anyone know what could be causing this?
PH: 8.2
Nitrates: 0
Phosphates: 0
Calcium: 420
Kh: 14
I have alot of hair algae in the tank, could the nitrates from the algae be killing my corals?
Also Kh is a little high could this be the problem? Help i do not want my corals to all die!

Your hardness is way to high. What salt are you using and what method for maintaining pH?
Hair algae is a telltale sign of high nutrients, remove as much as possible and increase water changes, and/or use better water. How much to you feed and what amount of fish do you have?

I would let it go down by itself, it should go down fairly quickly if you stop adding buffer for a day or two.
With carbonate hardness at 14 and pH at 8.2, it would seem you likely have a magnesium deficiency. I had the same problem when I used Instant Ocean salt.
You need to check your magnesium content, 1250-1400ppm is acceptable for most of our systems. When I had low Mg, I could add two part all day long any not get my pH above 8.1, but my carbonate harness would keep rising.

IO has almost no mag, ReefCrystals has almost 1400ppm of it. i say its your nitrates, DKH, Salinity..also whats the size of your tank...
Red Sea makes accurate, Easy to use Mag test kits

i ran several Nano tanks..its caused by un-stable water conditions..test your water every other day, over a period of 4 weeks i bet your water is shifting atleast every 3 days..wich will cause any coral to die. this is why i say nano tanks wont keep coral long

even SPS corals can live a few months in bad water, soft corals a little longer, how much growth did you see in your corals ?

Hm mushrooms are still fine and they grew from 3 heads to 10 heads in 4 months, my top rock with brown zoas is still fine and went from about 10 to about 70 polyps in 6 months, just seems to be mostly my zoas and xenia
