I just have my return pump, does a pretty good job keeping all the corals under good flow, do you think i should take my 106 gph powerhead out of my 10 gallon and use it in my biocube for now because maybe its the flow?

you dont want alot of flow on xenias, if you can see it pulsing then your good, if you cant, then theres too much flow.

No but that was when they were open, just every once in a while one would spit out like a black string, wouldnt dissipate in the water it would just float away

Have you used any and i mean ANY cleaners close to the tank? Sounds like it might be a small contamination......I would do a water change. Massive water change. They fix everything.

So if i do like a 50-70% water change and somethings still wrong, must be nitrates from hair algae?

I wonder why your dkH is so high if you don't dose? Weird, is it possible you did the test wrong?

tank glass? Thats a problem. Its loaded with ammonia. That could cause problems. use vinegar.

The Biocube uses Power Compact bulbs. If your tank is 7 months old they could be due for a change. PC's drop intensity quickly and should be changed every 6 to 9 months.
Windex should never be used near an aquarium for reason stated above. It's particularly bad if you are spraying it on the tank instead of the cloth.

My lights get changed about every 3 months so im fine on that, but a question on my lights, about 2 weeks ago i switched one of my regular bulbs to an actinic bulb, could the lack of light from the white bulbs be causing this?
Windex- So if im using it arround the tank it could be causing my dKh to become high and maybe even cause hair algae to grow due to ammonia being put into the tank?
