Something ate my new clam!!!!!!!!!!!


So I cant figuar out what would have ate it! This is whats in the tank:

clown
six line wrasse
yellow watchman
pistol shrimp
cleaner shirmp
little hermits
fightig conch
elaphant snails

So who did it!!!!! it was a beutiful 1.5 in max clam. Didnt even get to spend a whole day in the tank.

Yes all of the flesh was gone. I put it in last night around 830 all the light were off by then! Its was really healthy. When i woke up this morning the skunk cleaner appeared to be cleaning it then i realized all that was there was shell!!!!!!

Look in it for pyramid snails or maybe the skunk took his cleaning too far but I have never heard of that.

could it just have died, and then, the clean up crew took care of it.

clams can die scarily quick.

there also not much to a clam, it is pretty much just the mantle and a couple of muscles that are used for closing the shell.

clams less than 3" are difficult to keep, they do not rely on photosynthesis as this small an age and prefer need to be fed.

all of the critters you mentioned would not have been able to eat a healthy clam. a healthy clam even one of that size would have been able to close up tighty.
