Some Pics of the tanks

Just thought I'd share some pics of the 125g, and show you the beginnings of the reef tank. All we need to start now is the spraybar and it's complete! Just trying to figure out the intake for that. Melv's doesn't give too good of directions on how to plumb that.

keep the pics coming!!

as for the intake...there are several approaches.

Some suggest using a pvc Cross, attaching it to pvc pipe going into the tank, and getting strainers for 3 open ends.

I took a 18" piece of PVC, and drilled several 1/4" holes all around it.

here's a pic. In the middle, you can see my intake (the right is the output)

What you have for the intake is what I was thinking of doing. Is it just a piece of pvc with an endcap? Do you have that primer thing on the outside as well? Is that primer thing just an open pipe to get air out and then capped?

Another suggestion.
Use a prefilter.
My intake is the same as skeety's except all my holes are drilled in one spot at the bottom of the intake.
The reason, the holes in the bottom of the intake arent' sucking nearly as much as the holes drilled in the top..most of the intake is coming from the holes drilled high in the PVC.

Also slip some filter pad around it.
There is so much junk that gets caught in it, I have to change the prefilter every 2-3 days.
