Soft and Hard coral tank?

So I want to do a soft and hard coral tank. I know you have to filter it with carbon, and it's really risky. My question is what carbon filtration is the best. I was looking online and I really don't know what I need. Maybe this is it?

well u put it in a small or big net mesh bag thing and let water run over it (thats all) carbon traps organic mater so replace it every mmonth or so and WASH IT OUT BEFOR YOU PUT IT IN YOUR TANK

I've run mixed reefs for years with no carbon. skim and do frequemt water changes and you should be ok. the carbon sold at wal-mart is the black diamond with another label. it will save you some money to use that.

Same here. And as already mentioned, rise it well (with RO/DI water) before using.

Most people consider black diamond to be the best carbon that's packaged for the aquarium trade. You can run a mixed tank without carbon but I wouldn't recommend it.

carbon polishes your water makes it look really clean to me and if your planniong on keeping leathers i would recommend it again hands down i would use the black diamond.o when you rinse it DO NOT crush the carbon just run water through the bag for 20 seconds or so until the water comes out clear
