So Close, But Yet........

Finally had got around to getting the 125 up and running again from when I had a connector to the sump fail and flood the apartment. Got everything hooked up, got the baffles installed, triple checked all the joints, they are sealed well, got the tank and sump filled with water. Then I plug in my return pump..... Nothing......... absolutely nothing.......... Sometimes I REAALLLYYYYYY hate this hobby...... now I think I'm going to go break something.........

Yup, the GFCI is fine.... I know the pump is on because when I touch it it's warm, almost hot to the touch, but it's not drawing water....

This may sound stupid, but make sure the pump isn't backwards. Also make sure that any ball or gatevalves are open.

have you cleaned the pumps impellor? there may be built up calcium carbonate on the impellor. a good vinegar soaking should fix it.

ok, there is not much going on in a Velocity pump. what happens when you plug it in without any water going through it? it should sound god awfull.

every now and then i have to quickly unplug than plug my T3 in to get it going properly. this is like once every 20 times or so.

it doesn't make any noise at all..... just heats up... but on the inside on the metal there are scrapes like it warped and scratched when the joint failed before the automaic shutoff kicked in...
