Snowflake Eel

I saw one at the LFS and never gave much thought about it. but now that i will have a 60g by the end of the week i might like one but here is my problem, i the tank has a pair of clowns in a BTA and th female is about 3in which i dont think will be a problem with the SFE but its her mate which is only about 1.5in and i would not like to kill him since they are a spawning pair which i been trying to get my hands on for a while. so could i and also would the eel eat a crab?
