Smooth brown algae ?! Help Please

Hi there,

I just took down my 72 bow front tank and moving it to a new location, and thought it would be the perfect time to scrape everything off. however on the sides there is really smooth brown alage on the glass that won't come off. I am tried 3 razor blades and a glass algae scraper. The stuff is smoother than the glass. Any ideas? can I use anything to try and lift it up? The tank is sitting on the back porch right now in the sun. I am trying to kill it with air hoping that will help.

Got a picture? Sometimes (well, most of the time) vinegar will help, in this case you could soak a few paper towels in water/vinegar mix (1:1) and then lay it over the area.
