smelly tank .. ok, or no?
I picked up a few tanks yesterday as I got a great deal on them. However, the 15 gallon of the bunch I planned on using for a fuge/sump stinks. I found this out when I washed it today, it smells like there was hamsters, or reptiles in it. The other tanks are all fine.
I am just wondering, is it still safe to use this as a fuge tank? or is there something safe I should be cleaning it with? Its a very clean tank, just smells.

If it is a tank made only for critters or reptiles, they are not made to hold a tankful of water. I don;t know how you check though.

No, it was not made for reptiles, it is a regular 15 gallon fish tank. As for vinegar ...... its safe to use? it wont leave anything harmful behind?
Thanks

If Vinegar and water doesn't work, try bleach. If that doesn't work,I wouldn't use the tank.Hamster leave a heavy smelling ammonia smell!

The only thing I don't like about using a tank that hads rodents or reptiles in it is the fact that urine from them may ruin the sealer. Don't know if it wil, just why I alway stay away from them. leak check the tank after cleaning.
