the algae looks like a small bit of cyno. the polyps look like standard brown buttons. Cool clown pic!

High nutrients are one of the major part of causing cyano algae. If you blow it , they will bloom somewhere else. Keep up with your water changes and cut down on feeding and siphon all the debris / cyano off the tank.

If they get worse...use chem-clean but this will not cure the main problem and it's a chemical. Mostly all reef tanks get cyano once in a while due to high nutrients or immaturity of the tank.

Yep , I have it also and it's fading away now that I'm doing my water change once a week and reducing my feeding frenzy.

BTW, cool clown!

Thanks John,

I mean the tank has only been up and running for a little over 5 months so it would make sense on the immaturity part.I do keep up with my water changes sometimes even bi-weekly.It might have to do with feeding the anemones too much krill.Ill definitely cut back on that.

As far as everything else,I got the cyano off,it just peeled right off of the sponge and any of the rock.appreciate all they help and ID's everyone!!!!!!!

Try to siphon out as much Cyano as you can each waterchange or use a baster to remove it between water changes

Agree with Kelli , use the hose with out the tube and run above the cyno, it will give you more pinpoint siphon of the stuff .
